From there, SMU was able to keep UNT at arms-length the rest of the way as North Texas was unable to cut the deficit down under 14 points in the fourth quarter as the Mean Green dropped their third straight.
Tommisha Lampkin tied her career-high with five blocks while also adding 12 rebounds and six points in the loss.
Quoting Coach Mitchell
"The third quarter has been their best quarter all year, and we talked about that and how we had to match their energy out of the locker room. I thought they found some easy things…some dump offs to the post and things like that that we weren't giving up in the first half and that's what extended their lead and made it tough to come back from."
