2/12/2022 11:29:00 AM | Women's Basketball
DENTON, Texas – North Texas women's basketball will travel to Houston for its final regular season meeting with Rice. The game is slated for Sunday at 2 p.m. (CT) inside Tudor Fieldhouse. The game will broadcast on YouTube and Zac Babb will have the call on KNTU 88.1 FM.
On Thursday night, the Mean Green put on a defensive clinic forcing 26 Rice turnovers and holding them to its lowest point total in C-USA play since Feb. 2, 2019. It was a special day for Madison Townley as she broke the record for most games played in school history. She also led the team in scoring with 13 points and registered four boards.
North Texas will look for the same defensive output as they strive for its fourth consecutive C-USA victory. Next week the Mean Green will return home for two games as the play FAU (Feb. 17) and a rematch with UAB (Feb. 19).
QUOTING HEAD COACH JALIE MITCHELL
"It's a new day and a new game. The challenge in playing the same team back-to-back is making the necessary adjustments in a short period of time to better the outcome. There are definitely some areas we can improve in on both sides of the ball. We will cover them on and off the court, as we prepare to bring home another road win."
