Devier earns C-USA Tennis Athlete of the Week

DENTON – Following a pair of strong wins this past weekend, Lucie Devier was named Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Devier and doubles partner Maria Ponomareva claimed a 7-6 victory against a No. 30 ranked Rice duo. She also picked up a win over Charlotte in singles play. The senior won the first set 7-5 before falling in set two. This led to a third set tiebreaker which was won with a score of 10-4.
The senior from France has won seven singles matches and eight doubles matches this year.
This is Mean Green Tennis' first such honor of the season. The team will be hosting VCU on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. at Waranch Tennis Facility.
