Tan Leading Mean Green After Day 1 in Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The North Texas women's golf team is tied for third entering Tuesday's final round of the UNF Collegiate at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club at 15-over par, as senior Audrey Tan led the way over the first 36 holes on Monday and is tied for seventh place at even-par entering the final round.
Tan shot a 71-73 on Monday and is three shots back of the leader. She was followed on the leaderboard by senior Patricia Sinolungan, who shot a 74-72 and is 2-over par in a tie for 15th.
"We had a slow start in the morning but fortunately the ladies bounced back in the afternoon round and put us in striking distance with one round to go," UNT head coach Michael Akers said. "The golf course is set up in a way that is not separating teams. We normally play well in the final round and hope we break par tomorrow. Audrey and Patty were solid today and made some great up-and-downs. Fortunately, Ellie made a huge improvement from Round 1 to Round 2."
UNT, which is ranked 49th nationally, will be paired with host North Florida and No. 46 Furman and will begin Tuesday's final round with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m.
