Mean Green Soccer 2022 Schedule

DENTON — The most successful Conference USA women's soccer program announced its 2022 schedule on Wednesday in what will be its final season in the league.
The Mean Green, who have won a league record eight conference trophies begin this year's campaign on Aug. 18 with a home match versus Abilene Christian.
UNT's non-conference slate is highlighted with home matches versus Oklahoma on Sept. 1 and Texas Tech on Sept. 11. In between those two home matches the Mean Green will travel to SMU in Dallas on Sept. 8 to face their future American Athletic Conference mate. This will mark the first time since 2011 the two Metroplex schools have met. UNT won the most recent meeting, 2-1.
The 2022 season will be North Texas' 28th season as a program, all of which has been led by head coach John Hedlund who enters the year with 373 career victories. It is the 11th-most in the nation by an active head coach. He is one of just two active head coaches with over 20 years of experience who has never had losing season — North Carolina's Anson Dorrance is the other.
In the 27 previous seasons, UNT has racked up a total of 16 conference championships. They'll begin the road to what they hope will be number 17 on Sept. 15 with a home match versus Charlotte.
The 2022 C-USA conference schedule is a total of just 10 matches. Along with Charlotte, UNT hosts Florida Atlantic (Sept. 18), UAB (Oct. 2), UTSA (Oct. 16) and will conclude the regular season with a home match versus Louisiana Tech (Oct. 29).
The 2022 Conference USA Tournament will be hosted by Charlotte.
ESPN+
Ten of the Mean Green's 11 home soccer matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
TICKETS
Tickets will be available in August. Olympic Sports Pass will give access to UNT Soccer, Volleyball and Softball. Regular Olympic Sports Passes are $75 and reserved Olympic Sports Passes, which is the chairback section at soccer is $125. Single match pricing is $15 for adults and $5 for youth in reserved and $10 for adult and $5 for youth in general admission. Group rates are $5 per ticket for groups of 10-24 and $4 for groups of 25+.

SCHEDULE NOTES
- The Mean Green are scheduled to host Oklahoma on Sept. 1 and it will mark the third year in a row they've played the Sooners. UNT beat Oklahoma in 2020, 1-0, and they tied OU last season in Norman, 2-2 (2ot).
- This season will be the first time since 2017 the Mean Green have played Charlotte (Sept. 15) in the regular season and the first time since 2016 they've hosted the 49ers. UNT beat CLT in penalty kicks in the championship match of 2017 Conference USA Tournament
- UNT hosts ACU on Aug. 18. They beat the Wildcats in Abilene, Texas, last season, 2-0
- North Texas travels to SFA on August 28, they beat the beat Ladyjacks last year in Denton, 3-0.
- North Texas hosts Houston Baptist on Aug. 26. UNT beat HBU last year, 2-0, on the road.
- UNT joined Conference USA in 2013. In the nine full seasons in the league, the Mean Green have never lost a home conference match and are 41-0-4 (.955) total.
- The Mean Green are 60-14-10 (.773) all-time in regular season Conference USA matches since joining the league in 2013.
- In all matches versus C-USA opponents (including postseason), the Mean Green are 75-19-13 (.761) since the 2013 season.
