UNT and MGSF Announce 2022 Kickoff Celebration

Event will take place Saturday, August 6, at the Apogee Stadium HUB Club.
DENTON – UNT Athletics and the Mean Green Scholarship Fund have announced the 2022 Kickoff Celebration event for Saturday, August 6. The event, scheduled to take place at the Apogee Stadium HUB Club, marks the beginning of the 2022-23 athletic year and will give fans the opportunity to hear from Mean Green coaches and vice president and director of athletics Wren Baker.

The Kickoff Celebration event will begin at 11 a.m. allowing fans to get their first look at the Mean Green football team during an open practice period. Inflatables for kids will be all throughout the concourse near Gate 2. During the event, attendees will have the option to purchase season and single-game tickets, sign up for the Scrappy Squad kid's club, join the Mean Green Scholarship Fund and more. Season ticket holders will also have the opportunity to pick up their parking passes for the 2022 football season, along with their season ticket holder gift, and take a commemorative Season Ticket Holder photo.

Complimentary food and soft drinks will be provided by Mean Green Concessions, with beer and wine available for purchase. Fletcher's Corny Dogs will have free corny dogs for the first 500 fans in attendance and Kona Ice will provide Free Snow Cones. Beth Marie's will also be serving ice cream to attendees.

Starting at noon in The HUB Club, you will have a chance to hear from vice president and director of athletics Wren Baker along with women's golf coach Mike Akers, softball coach Rodney DeLong, women's basketball coach Jalie Mitchell, men's basketball coach Grant McCasland and football coach Seth Littrell. Longtime UNT broadcaster Hank Dickenson will emcee the event.
