Sinolugan Leads UNT Women On Day 1 At A&M

BRYAN, Texas - North Texas graduate student Patricia Sinolungan led the way for the Mean Green on Tuesday in Day 1 of the season-opening Texas A&M Mo'Morial at Traditions Golf Club.
Sinolungan shot a 72-71 on the first day of competition and sits at 1-under par for the tournament in a tie for 10th place on the individual leaderboard. The Mean Green are tied for eighth place at 12-over par with Texas Tech heading into Wednesday's final round.
Sinolungan had five birdies on the day and is five shots clear of teammate Audrey Tan, who shot an even-par 72 in the first round but carded a 4-over 76 in the second of two rounds on the day.Â
Sophomore Sakura Sugiyama, who made the team lineup for the first time since February, rebounded from an opening-round 77 to shoot an even-par 72 in the second round and is tied for 36th.
The Mean Green will wrap up play in Bryan on Wednesday with a shotgun start set for 8 a.m. They will be paired with SMU and Texas Tech.
