Women’s Tennis Adds Nformi Stadfany to 2023 Roster

DENTON, Texas (Jan. 12, 2023) – The North Texas women's tennis team and head coach Sujay Lama has announced the addition of Nformi Stadfany as a member to its 2023 spring roster.
Stadfany comes to UNT from Douala, Cameroon, where she is the No. 1 ranked Junior and Women's player in the country, winning the 2022 Cameroon Cup as the junior National Champion.
"We are super excited to welcome Nformi to our Mean Green family," head coach Sujay Lama said. "Her athleticism and all around court game really stood out in the recruiting process. She has tremendous hands and net game and will help us add depth at both singles and doubles immediately. Her work ethic, discipline and hunger is a perfect match for our team and the culture we have."
Stadfany has reached a career-high ITF Junior World Ranking of #301.
In addition to her Cameroon Cup title, Stadfany also won the 2022 ITF J4 doubles championship in South Africa this year. In 2021, she was the ITF J5 champion in both singles in doubles in Yaoude and the ITF J4 singles champion in Kenya.
The Mean Green are set to kick off their spring season Friday when they travel to Fort Myers, Fla. to take on Miami of Ohio at 8:00 a.m. CT.
