Sophomore broke her own UNT school record in the shot put.
DENTON, Texas – Following her record-setting performance at the Red Raider Open, KeAyla Dove has been named Conference USA Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Dove broke her own school record to win the women's shot put title in Lubbock, recording a mark of 56-1.25 (17.10m) that earned her a spot in the finals and eventually stood to win the event title. The sophomore from Houston, Texas, now stands at No.8 nationally in the shot put.

"I thank CUSA for the recognition," Dove said. "There's still more work to be done. There is a long road and season ahead. This is just the beginning. Romans 8:18."

This is the first career weekly honor for Dove, and it is the first of the indoor season for UNT.
The Mean Green will be back in Lubbock Friday and Saturday for the Texas Tech Open at the Sports Performance Center.
