
Volleyball Completes Comeback Win

WICHITA, Kan. – UNT volleyball knocked off Wichita State 3-2 on Saturday at Charles Koch Arena.
"We have the ability to compete at a high level," head coach Kristee Porter said. "I thought we did a good job of fighting for points late in the match and made plays when we needed to."
North Texas (14-12, 8-5) completed its first reverse sweep (19-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-11) since Sept. 17, 2021, at Illinois State. The Mean Green tallied 11 total blocks against the Shockers (17-6, 11-2) to extend its streak of eight consecutive matches with double-digit stops.
"Treyaunna Rush had some clutch kills in big moments tonight and Jayde Harris played the best she has played all season," Porter added. "We are excited to continue pushing through the last half of conference play and hope we can keep this momentum going."
Rush matched her season-high with 17 kills, including nine in the final two sets along with the match winner.
"Today we fought together and competed at a high level," Rush said. "We executed on our in-game adjustments and found a way to dig deep to help each other. I couldn't be prouder of myself and my teammates for playing with heart and determination."
Harris tallied a season-best 16 kills, including kill No. 1,000 of her collegiate career. She finished with a .389 hitting percentage on 36 attacks, four digs, two blocks and one assist. Over the past two matches, Harris has 24 kills on 52 attacks with a .404 attack rate.
Aryn Johnson recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs. She also set a new career-high mark with six blocks.
Ceci Harness distributed 28 assists with 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. She added two aces and one kill.
Kamryn Scroggins posted 23 assists with six assists and one ace. Scroggins and Harness have both accumulated 20 or more assists in eight matches this season.
Aleeyah Galdeira collected 19 digs for the second-consecutive match and has recorded 15 or more in the past six. She matched her career-best mark with three service aces.
