
T&F: Dove Earns Second C-USA Weekly Award

Sophomore broke her own UNT school record in the shot put for the third time in four weeks.
DENTON, Texas – After another record-setting performance at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, KeAyla Dove has been named Conference USA Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

"Key is a special talent," head coach Doug Marshall said. "Everything she does is elite, and because of that she continues to get better each week. I'm proud of her and what she continues to accomplish."
Dove broke the UNT school record in the women's shot put for the third time in four weeks this past weekend in Albuquerque. After recording three throws of just over 53 feet, Dove launched her second-to-last throw 57-3 (17.45m) to improve upon her previous school record of 56-1.25 (17.10m). Dove's new best mark ranks No. 8 in the nation. The sophomore from Houston, Texas, finished as the runner-up at the Albuquerque Convention Center, the site of this season's NCAA Indoor Championships.

This is the second career weekly honor for Dove, her second in three weeks, and the second for UNT this season.
Next up for the Mean Green is the Conference USA Indoor Championship meet Feb. 18-19 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
