
Track & Field Travels to Sooner Invitational & Multis

Both the Mean Green men’s and women’s teams are ranked No. 4 in C-USA
DENTON, Texas – After a successful home meet, UNT Track & Field is back on the road for the Sooner Invitational & Multis Friday and Saturday at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex in Norman, Okla.

The Mean Green will be competing against host Oklahoma, Abilene Christian, Allen CC, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas, Central Oklahoma, Coffeyville CC, East Central, Eastern New Mexico, Langston, Little Rock, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma Baptist, Oklahoma Christian, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Rogers State, Science & Arts, Southern Nazarene, TCU, Texas Tech, Tulsa and UTA.

Coming into the meet, KeAyla Dove is ranked No. 3 in the West and No. 7 in the nation in the shot put, while Jaleisa Shaffer is 21stin the West and 39th nationally. Madison Sloan is 34th in the West in the hammer throw.

On the men's side, Karlington Anunagba is 10th in the West (23rd nationally) in the 100 meters, and Kevin Grubbs (discus) is 12th in the West and 25th in the nation. Jordan Coates-McBride is 25th in the West in the 400-meter hurdles, Vitus Hansgaard and Zion Hill are 21st and 22nd, respectively, in the West javelin rankings, and Wardell Glaspie is 24th in the West in the discus.

With three meets left until the Conference USA Outdoor Championships in Denton, both the UNT men's and women's teams are ranked No. 4 in the conference by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Live results will be provided by Delta Timing. Field events will kick off Friday with the women's hammer throw at 10:30 a.m. CT, while the women's 100-meter hurdles prelims will get running events going at 6 p.m. CT. Saturday's field events will start at 9 a.m. CT with the women's javelin throw, while running events will begin at 1 p.m. CT with the women's 4x100-meter relay.
