Track & Field: Hottel Places Third at Michael Johnson Invitational

Senior is now No. 2 all-time at UNT in the outdoor pole vault
DENTON, Texas – Brock Hottel moved to No. 2 all-time for UNT Track & Field in the outdoor pole vault to place third and lead the Mean Green Saturday at the Michael Johnson Invitational at Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium in Waco, Texas.

Hottel, the school record holder in the indoor pole vault, is now No. 2 in UNT history outdoors after registering a personal-best jump of 17-04.25 (5.29m) to finish in third place.

In the men's 100 meters, Karlington Anunagba finished in fifth place with a time of 10.46, while Jordan Coates-McBride took sixth in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.55.

Mason Garner ran a personal-best 3:50.54 in the men's 1,500 meters to finish in 10th place, Kendahl Tucker recorded her career best in the women's 400 meters with a time of 55.01 to place 15th, and Luke Canon finished 15th in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:53.90.

Next up for UNT is the final meet before the Conference USA Outdoor Championships in Denton, the Texas Tech Corky/CroFoot Shootout next Friday and Saturday (April 28-29) in Lubbock, Texas.
