
Track & Field Set to Host North Texas Classic

Mean Green seniors will be honored at 4:30 p.m. CT
DENTON, Texas – UNT Track & Field will host the annual North Texas Classic and honor the 2023 senior class Saturday at the Soccer and Track & Field Stadium.

This will be the final home regular season meet (the 2023 Conference USA Outdoor Championships will be hosted by UNT) for Mean Green seniors Karlington Anunagba, Spencer Boykin, Antonio Delacruz, Wardell Glaspie, Brock Hottel, Davonye Jones, Liah Collins, Natasha Corkerton-Purchas, Charlotte Kerr, Sam Konen, Macayla Needham, Nazah Reddick, Jaleisa Shaffer and Tegan Burdick.

Coming into the meet, sophomore KeAyla Dove is ranked No. 2 in the West and No. 5 in the nation with a shot put mark of 57-3 (17.45m). Kevin Grubbs (discus) and Karlington Anunagba (100 meters) are both ranked No. 21 in the nation. Anunagba is No. 9 in the West with a time of 10.22, while Grubbs is 10th in the West with a mark of 189-5 (57.73m).

The Mean Green men's team is ranked No. 16 in the South Central Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, while the women's team is ranked No. 17.

UNT will be hosting ACU, Baylor, Cameron, Colombia, Concordia, Dallas, Dallas Christian, Drury, Fort Scott CC, Hill College, Jacksonville College, North Central Texas College, Pratt CC, Ranger, Sam Houston, SMU, Tarleton, Texas Wesleyan, Thunder Road, UNT-Dallas, US Paralympic Team, UTA and Washburn.

Live results will be provided by NTX Results powered by MileSplit. Field events will kick off with the men's hammer throw at 9 a.m. CT, while the men's 5,000 meters will get running events going at 9 a.m. CT, as well. The 2023 senior class ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. CT.
