Hansgaard Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

Sophomore will compete at regionals in the men’s javelin
DENTON, Texas – Vitus Hansgaard was named to the 2023 Conference USA Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team after maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA, the league office announced.Â
Hansgaard is one of 11 men's student-athletes (22 overall) to earn a spot on the C-USA Track & Field All-Academic Teams. The sophomore business major from Holte, Denmark, is one of only four on the men's side (nine total) to hold perfect 4.0 GPAs.Â
On the field, Hansgaard has secured a bid to the 2023 NCAA West Preliminary Rounds after finishing 31st in the region with a javelin mark of 65.65m. He finished as the Conference USA runner-up in the javelin after recording a throw of 209-05 (63.85m).
Hansgaard and the Mean Green will travel to Sacramento, Calif., for the preliminary rounds next Wednesday through Saturday (May 24-27), with the men's javelin taking place Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. CT.
