T&F: Dove Earns Second Team All-America Honors

DENTON, Texas – With her 10th-place finish in the women's shot put Thursday night, KeAyla Dove secured Second Team All-America accolades on the final day of action for UNT Track & Field at the 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Dove recorded a throw of 57-6.5 (17.54m), just missing out on a spot in the final. The junior from Houston, Texas, is the second UNT student-athlete to earn Second Team All-America honors, and the seventh overall. She is the first UNT All-American since Clinton Collins in 2014, and the first UNT women's student-athlete to garner All-America accolades since Brandi Stanfield at the 2006 indoor championships. Dove is the highest-ranked shot put finisher in school history, and is the first-ever NCAA All-American thrower for UNT.

The NCAA Outdoor Championships concludes a banner first season for Dove at UNT that included the Second Team All-America award, school records in both the indoor and outdoor shot put, the Conference USA meet record in the outdoor shot put, the Conference USA Championship in the outdoor shot put, All-Conference USA First Team honors in the outdoor shot put, and All-Conference USA Second Team accolades in the indoor shot put.
