Volleyball Closes Preseason with a Sweep

DENTON, Texas – UNT volleyball punctuated its preseason with a 3-0 sweep over Oral Roberts on Saturday at the North Texas Volleyball Center.
The Mean Green won the exhibition match in three frames 25-14, 25-15 and 25-13 over the Golden Eagles.
Coco Gillett and Aryn Johnson led the team with eight kills apiece. In her Mean Green debut, Gillett also registered 10 digs and one solo block.
Anyse Smith impressed with seven kills on 14 attacks (.429 hitting percentage) and three blocks. She opened the third set with five consecutive points with four kills and a solo block.
Aleeyah Galdeira finished one assist shy of a double-double with a team-high 17 digs and nine assists. Ceci Harness led North Texas with 17 assists and Alexa Washington deposited nine.
Reigning Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year Sh'Diamond Holly dropped four kills on five attacks (.800) with no attack errors. Truli Levy matched the perfect attack mark with six kills on nine attacks and closed with a .667 hitting percentage. Treyaunna Rush contributed six kills and three blocks.

UNT travels to Boulder, Colorado for the Buffs Invitational to open its season. On Friday, the Mean Green begin the four-team tournament with a meeting versus Campbell at 5 PM CT. North Texas will face UNLV on Saturday at 4 PM CT and hosts Colorado on Sunday at 1 PM CT.
