UNT meets UTA for its 63rd matchup on Thursday and has played the Mavericks more than any other team in program history. The Mean Green have won seven of the past eight matches, including a three-set sweep at last season's UTA Classic but trails the all-time series 11-51.
North Texas holds a 16-11 mark over A&M-Commerce after a sweep on September 3, 2022, also at the UTA Classic. Before last year, the programs had not played since 1987.
Head coach Kristee Porter closes the tournament against her former team, McNeese, on Saturday. UNT trails the series 9-12 including a tough five-set loss to Porter's squad on August 27, 2021, at the North Texas Invite.
