CHARLOTTE — The UNT men's basketball team had its six-game winning streak snapped Saturday with a 56-44 loss at Charlotte.
The Mean Green (11-6, 4-1) were led in scoring by Aaron Scott who scored 13 points. CJ Noland made UNT's lone 3-pointer on the day as he finished 10 points. Lu'Cye Patterson led the 49ers (11-7, 5-1) with 20 points.
"Give coach Fearne and his team a ton of credit," said head coach Ross Hodge. "They were prepared, and they executed. We knew how difficult it was going to be to come in here and win with the fact that they were 7-1 and now 8-1 in their home gym this year and traditionally a really good home team.
They were the more physical team today and they were tougher. They were able to execute and get balls to spot where they wanted and you got to give them a lot of credit," he added.
North Texas returns home Thursday to host SMU at 6 p.m. CT. It'll be the first time the Mean Green have hosted SMU since 2001. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the Mean Green Sports Network.
