
Volleyball Welcomes USF Friday, Travels to Tulane Sunday

DENTON, Texas – Mean Green volleyball will finish its four-match homestand as American Athletic Conference leaders South Florida visit the UNT Volleyball Center on Friday at 6 p.m. before it travels to Tulane on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
UNT (8-11, 5-3) enters the weekend tied for fourth place in the conference after it posted a four-set win over Tulsa on Friday. As a team, the Mean Green dropped 17 blocks and freshman Ryann Vik tallied 10 to garner an AAC Honorable Mention selection on Monday.
The Mean Green won its lone meeting against South Florida (11-8, 7-1) on Oct. 20, 2023, after it collected a season-high 69 kills, including 11 from Aryn Johnson and eight by Coco Gillett. Setter Kamryn Scroggins set her season-high mark of 31 assists and added 10 digs for her then-fourth double-double of the year.
On Sunday, UNT will travel to Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse for its second meeting of the season against Tulane (12-8, 4-4). The Mean Green hold a four-match winning streak over the Green Wave after its three-set sweep at the UNT Volleyball Center on Sept. 29.
The Mean Green dropped 51 kills, the most in a three-set match this season, in its first matchup with a .365 hitting percentage on 104 attacks. Johnson led the match with 11 kills as Payton Van Veen posted 10 and libero Paige Mooney tallied a match-high 18 digs.
