
Track & Field Heads South for Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

DENTON, Texas – Members of the UNT track and field team will be competing at the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays beginning Thursday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
The Mean Green will have 19 athletes competing in the meet, along with relay teams competing in the 4x100 and 4x400 for both the men and women. All-American KeAyla Dove will also be making her outdoor season debut in women's shot put but will be competing unattached this weekend.
Zion Hill is looking to continue his solid start to the season after being named the AAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. Hill reset his own school record in the javelin throw at the Texas A&M Invitational and is currently ranked No. 7 in the country.
Joining Hill at the Relays will be Vitus Hansgaard and Akeel Hanchard. The latter of the three will be competing Thursday evening in Section B, while Hill and Hansgaard were placed in Section A and will throw on Friday.
North Texas will also have three sprinters competing in the men's 100 meters in Jared Johnson, Samir Williams and Jaylen Washington.
On the women's side Alika Crawford and Deja Shaw-Huckaby will run the 100 meters to lead a group of sprinters, while Makayla Roy will set the table for field athletes in the women's javelin and start the meet for the team Thursday at approximately 1:15 p.m. CT.
