DENTON, Texas – The UNT men's track and field team received a signature from former Sam Houston State hurdler Hendrick Hundl who will transfer into the program ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Hundl, an in-state product from El Campo, Texas, began his collegiate career at Texas A&M where he competed in the 2023 outdoor season. He competed twice for the Aggies in the 110-meter hurdles, which included a first-place finish at the Trojan Invite.
Following the season, he transferred to Sam Houston State University where he ran last season. Hundl primarily competed in the 60-meter hurdles during the indoor season and the 110-meter hurdles in outdoors, but also ran the 100 meters and saw action on the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay teams.
He earned all-conference honors at both the indoor and outdoor championships with a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles and a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at his first Conference USA Championships. Hundl clocked a wind-aided 13.91, which marked his fastest time of the season, at the 44 Farms Team Invitational where he claimed second place. His best legal time of the season came at the NCAA West Preliminary Round where he finished 41st in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.30.
