Alexa Washington becomes the seventh player in Division I with consecutive triple-doubles this season
DENTON – Alexa Washington recorded her second consecutive triple-double as UNT volleyball captured a 3-1 (25-19, 17-25, 25-20, 25-15) victory over East Carolina on Friday night at the UNT Volleyball Center.
Last Friday, Washington became the first player in program history to collect a triple-double and replicated the performance with 10 kills, 30 assists and 16 digs against the Pirates (10-8, 2-5). Additionally, she is the seventh Division I player this season to record a triple-double in consecutive matches.
"Honestly, I don't pay attention to those types of things," Washington said after the match. "I'm just going to try my best, and if it happens, it happens, and if it doesn't, that's all right."
Sophomore Lilly Croshaw led the Mean Green (14-5, 4-3) with a career high 20 kills and finished with zero errors on 30 attacks for a .667 hitting percentage. Along with Washington, Reagan Bedell and Jahniya Jackson each finished with 10 kills.
North Texas won sets one, three and four in wire-to-wire fashion as it never trailed in three of the four frames. The Mean Green tallied more kills (62-42), assists (56-36), aces (6-4), digs (59-50) and points (76-54) than the Pirates.
UNT visits Memphis on Sunday with streaming coverage on ESPN+ from Larry O. Finch Center at 1 p.m.
