Soccer Inks Five Incoming Freshmen

The Mean Green signed five newcomers, all of whom will be incoming freshmen.
Sophie Altieri | Defender | Frisco Wakeland HS
Altieri will join the Mean Green after a highly successful high school career in the DFW area. Her Wakeland team won the Class 5A state championship in 2024 and was runner-up in 2025 after posting undefeated regular-season records in both seasons. The outside back is a four-year varsity player for the Wolverines and will enter her senior season with five goals, 15 assists (14 off corner kicks) and first-team all-district and all-region honors along with an all-state nod with a combined 51-1-3 record over the past two seasons. She plays club soccer with DKSC and had three goals and five assists last club season. Altieri's sister, Victoria, played for the Mean Green from 2021-23.
Clara Carter | Defender | Regents School of Austin
Carter will join the Mean Green after prepping at Regents School of Austin and serving as a three-year captain. The center back was an all-state selection and has led her team to a state semifinal appearance the past two seasons. She has been voted the Team MVP every year of her high school career and plays her club soccer for Sting Austin 08 ECNL.
AJ Jaquay | Defender | Allen HS
Jaquay, who was born in Denton, is joining the Mean Green after a prep career at in the DFW area and playing club with DKSC. She was an all-district performer as a sophomore and junior and the center back enters her senior season with three straight district championships.
Madalynn Putnam | Forward | Forney HS
Putnam will enroll and join the Mean Green in January after a successful prep career in the DFW area. She's earned all-region and all-state honors and won the District 14-5A Golden Boot as a sophomore and led District 10-6A in goals and assists as a junior. The forward led her team to district championships in both Class 5A (sophomore year) and Class 6A (junior year), while advancing to the 6A semifinals as a junior. In her three seasons with the Lady Rabbits, Putnam has compiled 61 goals and 44 assists, and she also plays club for DKSC along with Altieri and Jaquay. Her cousin, Brittnye Lawson, played for the Mean Green from 2016-19 and earned All-CUSA honors in 2017.
Makayla Sellyei | Midfielder | Cherokee Trail HS (Aurora, Colorado)
The lone non-Texan in this year's class, Sellyei will join the Mean Green after a standout prep career in the Denver metro area. As a junior, the attacking mid earned first-team all-league honors with nine goals to give her 10 in her career entering her senior season. She plays club soccer for Colorado Rush.
