DENTON, Texas – UNT women's basketball return to The Super Pit to host Oral Roberts Thursday in the penultimate nonconference game of the season. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT.
The Mean Green (6-4) are coming off an 81-69 loss to Illinois Sunday in Champaign. The Fighting Illini shot 65% from 3-point territory, making 11 of 17 attempts after entering the contest converting 3-pointers at a 30% clip. Although Illinois' 81 points are the most allowed by UNT this season, the Mean Green are yet to give up more than 65 points to a team not in a major conference.
Tiffany Hammond was the bright spot offensively for North Texas as she reached double figures for the first time since her 22-point career high in the season opener.
Oral Roberts will enter the matchup 5-6 on the year after falling to Wichita State 79-65 on Tuesday. The teams have only played one common opponent so far this season, being Oklahoma State, which ORU lost to 112-62 on Nov. 9, while UNT fell 73-55 to the Cowgirls on Dec. 3.
Thursday's game will be the first of two home games for the Mean Green this week to close out the nonconference slate. Santa Clara will travel to Denton for a matchup Sunday at 2 p.m. CT.

• North Texas is a perfect 28-0 when scoring 70+ points at The Super Pit under Burton.
• The only losses came on Feb. 4, 2024, when UNT fell at Tulsa, 79-74, and in an 88-86 overtime loss to Troy to end the Mean Green's run in the 2025 WNIT.
A WIN WOULD...
• Improve North Texas to 7-4 on the year
• Make UNT 4-10 all-time against ORU
