DENTON, Texas — UNT sophomore sprinter Jaylen Washington will represent the Mean Green in the 60-meter dash at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Washington earned his spot in the field based on his personal best time of 6.55 he clocked at the Red Raider Invite on Jan. 24. The school record time is tied for the 15th-fastest time in the country this season.
He is just the second sprinter in program history to qualify for indoor nationals, joining Keyth Talley who placed 13th in the 60 meters in 2010.
Washington will run in the semifinals at approximately 6:18 p.m. CT. The top two finishers in each heat and the next four fastest times will advance to the finals, which is set to be contested at 5:10 p.m. CT on Saturday evening.
The meet will be streamed on ESPN+, while live results can be found on Flash Results.
