Forde Reaches World Finals in 60 Meters

NANJING, China — UNT sprinter Julian Forde placed seventh against a world-class field in the finals of the 60-meter dash on the first day of the World Indoor Track & Field Championships in Nanjing, China.
Representing his home country of Barbados, Forde clocked a 6.57 in the preliminary round, recording a career best time in the event. After a 6.59 got him through the semifinals, he wrapped up his competition placing seventh against some of the fastest sprinters in the world with a time of 6.64.
A junior at North Texas, Forde is coming off an indoor season that saw him earn all-conference honors as the American Athletic Conference runner-up in the 60 meters.
