Tennis Defeats No. 68 Tulane at Home

North Texas beat Tulane 4-1 Friday.
DENTON — The UNT women's tennis team won for the second consecutive match Sunday morning as the Mean Green defeated No. 68 Tulane 4-1 at the Waranch Tennis Complex.
North Texas (8-9) took the doubles point to begin the day.
Lilly Schultz and Lou Chalard started doubles play with a 6-1 win at line one to improve to 3-4 as a pairing.
Stanislava Shulzhenko and Stadfany Nformi then clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at line two. Nformi and Shulzhenko lead the Mean Green in doubles with five wins together.
Nformi then started out singles play with a 6-0, 6-4 win at line two, her second consecutive match win.
With a 2-0 lead, Shulzhenko then got UNT within one of victory with a 6-4, 6-3 win at line three.
The Green Wave (9-8) got a point back at line one before Marina Adati picked up a 6-1, 7-5 victory at line six to secure the win for the Mean Green.
