DENTON, Texas — UNT weight thrower Jake Parchman was named the Men's Indoor Most Outstanding Field Performer from the 2025 AAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the conference announced Thursday.
Men's and Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer and Field Performer awards are presented to student-athletes who recorded the highest-ranking marks on the NCAA's Division I performance list during last week's American Indoor Track & Field Championships. Parchman's school-record mark of 21.01 meters in the weight throw at the conference meet was No. 43 in the country this year.
Parchman was the lone conference champion for the Mean Green at the AAC Championships. His final attempt was the best throw of his career, surpassing his own school record for the third time this season.
He is just the second male athlete to win the award in program history, joining Jordan Wehr in 2011.
The UNT track and field progam is set to kick off the outdoor season March 21-22 in Fort Worth at the TCU Alumni Invite.
