Student-Athletes Honored at 9th Annual Scrappys Awards

DENTON, Texas – North Texas Athletics hosted its ninth annual Scrappys Awards Monday night to honor its student-athletes' achievements in athletics, academics and community service during the 2024-25 school year.

The event was held at the Murchison Performing Arts Center.

Highlights of the evening included recognition of the UNT softball team scoring an upset victory over No. 13 Texas Tech in the home opener, and several other achievements throughout the school year.
Women's golf was honored for their top GPAs during both the Spring and Fall of 2024.

Additionally, each team along with cheer, dance and mascot had a Team MVP and Mean Green Spirit Honoree announced.

Team Moment of the Year | Softball – Softball upset #13 Texas Tech in the home opener of the 2025 season after Riley McNemar hit a walk-off grand slam. Down five runs entering the seventh inning, Ausha Moore opened UNT's rally with a two-run double before McNemar connected for the walk-off blast. |
