All-League Big Reece Robinson Signs With Mean Green

The 6-foot-8 forward is following head coach Daniyal Robinson, who is also his father, from Cleveland State to the Mean Green. Robinson was hired as North Texas' head coach on April 4.
"We're excited to welcome Reece to the Mean Green family," Robinson said. "Reece is a high-character young man who plays with tremendous effort, passion and physicality. He brings a relentless motor and a team-first mindset. Reece's strengths lie in his ability to move without the ball, crash the offensive glass, and guard multiple positions. In his first year at Cleveland State, he made an immediate impact, earning Horizon League All-Freshman Team honors. Mean Green fans are going to love the energy and intensity Reece brings. He embodies everything we value in our program. As his father, I am truly blessed to be a part of his student-athlete journey on a daily basis. We can't wait to see his impact in Denton."
Robinson earned Horizon League All-Freshman Team honors after averaging 5.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and nearly 1.0 steal per game for the Vikings a season ago. CSU won 23 games last year, its most wins in 14 seasons, a second-place finish in the Horizon League and a runner-up finish in the 2025 College Basketball Invitational.
The forward scored in double figures six times last season, notching a season high 14 points in a win over conference foe Green Bay. Cleveland State was 5-1 in games where Robinson scored 10 or more. He had two double doubles on the year and had 10+ rebounds three times. He made 15 starts for the Vikings and showed some range has he made nine 3-pointers on the season.
A graduate from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, during his senior season Robinson led his prep team to its first Ohio state championship in 23 years. He led the Wildcats in rebounds per game at 8.6.
Robinson will join UNT with three years of eligibility remaining.
