DENTON – The UNT track and field teams are set to begin the indoor season on Friday at the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
"I'm always excited to get the season started, and we have a really great group of athletes that have been excited to compete," head coach Doug Marshall said. "Arkansas is always a great place to open up with some of the best in the world lining up. It will be a great opportunity to see where some of our newcomers, and a few vets, are in training and how they compete."
The teams will feature several new faces this year but also have several key returners, such as senior hurdler Hendrick Hundl on the men's side and senior distance runner London Culbreath on the women's side.
The meet will mark the start of the program's fourth season under Marshall's leadership. Marshall has led the Mean Green through the transition from Conference USA into the American Conference and has helped a handful of athletes advance to the NCAA Championships after junior sprinter Jaylen Washington advanced to NCAA Indoors last season and earned Second-Team All-America honors.
