McNeil Earns Second American Weekly Honor

IRVING, Texas - Senior Alliyah McNeil has been named the American Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks, the league announced Tuesday.
McNeil, who hails from St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, had a strong showing over the weekend in the Oklahoma Classic, as she won the high jump with a leap of 1.75 meters and also won the long jump with a jump of 6.20 meters.
It's the second weekly American honor of McNeil's career and the fourth for the Mean Green this indoor season. It's the first time since UNT joined the conference that the Mean Green have won more than two weekly awards in an indoor season. The four honors is the most since claiming four in 2013 as a member of the Sun Belt.
