Chanthapanya In Lead, UNT In Third After Two Rounds At MountainView Collegiate

TUCSON, Arizona – The UNT women's golf team on Saturday put together another strong round at the 2026 MountainView Collegiate and sits in third place of the 16-team field. North Texas senior Malisone Chanthapanya leads the entire field after two rounds as she shot a 70 Saturday at the Preserve Golf Course in Tucson, Arizona, and is -7 through 36 holes.
The Mean Green opened the tournament Friday with stellar first round score of 282 (-6) that positioned them in second place. They followed up their first round with a steady performance Saturday in the second round with a 289 (+1). They ended Saturday in a tie for third with Iowa.
Chanthapanya led the way Saturday for UNT as she shot a 70 (-2), which comes after shooting a 67 (-5) on Friday. She ended Saturday with a one stroke lead atop the player leaderboard.
Through 36 holes of the tournament, Chanthapanya has bogeyed just two holes, both of which came on the back nine Saturday.
Junior Bouquet Subsomboon and freshman Marin Fujiyasu had another good performance Saturday. The Mean Green duo ended the second round each in a tie for 18th place as they are even through 36 holes.
The third round will tee off Sunday morning. Chanthapanya will aim for her third top 10 finish of the season and potentially first career win.
