Swim & Dive Trio Earns Academic All-District

DENTON - Three Mean Green student-athletes from the swimming and diving program were named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.

The honor, which is reserved for those with at least a 3.50 GPA and who competed in at least 75% of competitions or finished top-eight at a conference meet participated in a national championship.

Sophomore swimmer Jette Schindler, sophomore diver Amelia Sharp and junior diver Ashley Van Milligan all made the All-District list.

Schindler, who was one of the top swimmers in the program this past season, is a Biology major with a 4.0 GPA. Van Milligan made the Championship final in the 1-meter springboard at the American Conference Championships and has a 3.986 GPA in Biomedical Engineering. Sharp, who was part of the successful title defense of the Team Diving competition at the American Conference Championships, and also won her first individual medal when she took silver in platform, has a 3.863 GPA in Psychology.
