Williams Earns Field Athlete of the Week Nod

IRVING, Texas — UNT sophomore Oluwatimilehim Williams was named the American Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week following his efforts at the SMU Invite over the weekend, the league announced on Tuesday.
Williams won the men's discus with a throw of 58.12 meters and now owns the second- and third-best throws in program history. He took second in men's shot put and was the top collegiate finisher with a throw of 17.87 meters that broke a 51-year-old program record for outdoor shot put, and he now owns both the outdoor and indoor shot put program records.
The award marks the second time this outdoor season WIlliams has been named the Field Athlete of the Week.
The Mean Green will return to competition when they host the American Outdoor Championships at Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium on May 14-16.
