UNT Trio Lands on American Preseason Watch List

IRVING, Texas — UNT soccer landed three players on the 2026 American Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Watch List, as Mia Bernard, Claire Niedermeier and Sarah Margaret Seabrook were all recognized, the league announced on Friday.
Bernard made the list for the second straight season after the senior second-year captain from Heath, Texas, led the team last year in goals and assists.
Niedermeier, a junior and former high school teammate of Bernard's, led the team in shots and was second to Bernard with five goals last year, while also notching a pair of assists.
Seabrook will start at goalkeeper for the Mean Green after playing in one match last season before missing much of the season with an injury. She played in three matches in her two previous seasons at Mississippi.
"I'm really happy to see Mia, Claire, and Sammy recognized by our conference," head coach John Hedlund said. "All three have worked incredibly hard to elevate their games to a high level, and this recognition is a well-deserved honor. Congratulations to each of them."
The UNT women's soccer season starts on August 6, as the Mean Green will host Tarleton State in an exhibition at 7 p.m. They will stay in Denton to host Navarro College on August 13 at 7 p.m., in the regular-season opener.

Olympic Sport Passes are available in two levels at $80 (general admission) and $125 (includes reserved seating at soccer).
