Soccer Beginning Conference Play at Home With USF

DENTON - The UNT soccer team begins its American Conference slate on Thursday with a matchup against South Florida at the newly named John Hedlund Field at Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
The Mean Green (4-3-1) are coming off a 1-0 road win at DePaul on Sunday to round out non-conference play in which junior forward Claire Niedermeier scored her ninth goal of the season, which puts her as one of four players in the country to have at least nine goals.
South Florida (2-4-1) is coming off 2-2 draw with Mercer last Thursday and had the weekend off. The Bulls are allowing one more goal per match than they've scored, but have traditionally been a powerhouse in the American Conference.
