Men’s Basketball Reveals 2026-27 Non-Conference Schedule

Mean Green to face off with five non-conference opponents who played in postseason in 2025-26
DENTON, Texas – The UNT men's basketball program and second-year head coach Daniyal Robinson have unveiled the non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season, highlighted by nine home matchups at the Super Pit.
The Mean Green open non-conference play against Southwest Christian Nov. 2 in Denton as a part of four consecutive home contests to kick off the season.
The non-conference schedule features 13 total contests that includes three matchups against teams who made the NCAA Tournament in 2025-26 and another two who appeared in last year's NIT.
Following the home opener, UNT will host three straight teams at the Super Pit who appeared in the postseason a year ago with games against McNeese on Nov. 5, Santa Clara on Nov. 11 and South Alabama on Nov. 14. The Cowboys and Broncos played in the NCAA Tournament in 2025-26 while the Jaguars were in the NIT.
After starting with four straight home contests, North Texas will travel on the road for the first time on Nov. 20 in Boone, N.C., against App State.
The Mean Green will then head to Idaho Falls, ID, to compete in the Snake Rivers Invitational Nov. 27-29 with matchups against North Dakota State, Boise State and Drake.
North Texas then returns to the state of Texas for the final six non-conference contests with five of them happening in Denton.
UNT will host two games in three days against Bradley on Dec. 4 and Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 6 at the Super Pit.
The final non-conference game away from home for the Mean Green will be Dec. 13 as UNT competes in the Coast-to-Coast Challenge for the second straight year. This season, North Texas takes on Texas State at Dickies Arena.
The non-conference schedule then wraps up with three straight home contests against Winthrop on Dec. 16, Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 20 and University of the Southwest on Dec. 22.
The American Conference schedule for the Mean Green will be released by the league at a later date.
