David Stenklyft joined the Mean Green as its Director of Recruiting prior to the start of the 2016 season and moved into a more advanced role as the Director of Operations in January of 2018.

Before arriving in Denton, Stenklyft was the Director of On-Campus Recruiting and Assistant Director of Player Personnel at Fresno State, where he was responsible for all on and off-campus recruiting activities, coordinating all official and unofficial visit weekends, as well as junior days.

Stenklyft was the outside linebackers coach and defensive graduate assistant at Fresno State from 2012-14 before taking on his recruiting roles with the program.

Prior to his time at Fresno State, Stenklyft was the assistant linebackers coach and was a defensive quality control coach at his alma mater, Texas A&M, from 2010-12.

Stenklyft began his career in recruiting and operations at Alabama in 2010, where the Crimson Tide had the unanimouis No. 1 signing class in the country.
