Buyers joined the Mean Green staff in July of 2017 as a graduate assistant specializing in defense, after playing at North Texas from 2012-16 as both a wide receiver and cornerback.Â
In 2016 as a redshirt senior and captain. Buyers switched to wide receiver, where he hauled in 32 passes for 324 yards and a touchdown in 13 appearances.
Buyers intercepted five passes in his career, posting 148 total tackles after walking on in 2012. He was a two-time team captain and earned honorable mention all-conference at defensive back.
