Quinn Shanbour joined the North Texas coaching staff in 2019. He was promoted to analyst working with the quarterbacks in April 2022.
Shanbour, who played quarterback for the Mean Green from 2013-18, was as a volunteer assistant in 2019 working with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.
In 2022, he worked as an analyst with the quarterbacks in 2022. That season, Austin Aune set a new UNT record with 33 touchdown passes and led the nation averaging 15.29 yards per completion.
He served as a graduate assistant from 2020-21 spending time with both the quarterbacks and tight ends. Working under tight end coach Adrian Mayes in 2021, he helped lead Jason Pirtle to a career-best season with 41 receptions and 380 yards, both second-best on the team.
In 2020, Shanbour teamed with fellow GA Dane Evans to mentor the UNT quarterbacks. Under their guidance, Austin Aune and Jason Bean combined to throw for 27 touchdowns and only nine interceptions while completing 55 percent of their passes. UNT finished 25th nationally in passing offense with 283.0 ypg.
A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., Shanbour appeared in 28 games in his time as a UNT student-athlete, and served on the team's leadership council in 2017 and 2018. He walked on at Oklahoma State before transferring to North Texas in 2013.
Shanbour has four degrees from UNT including three master’s degrees (2015, 2017, 2019, 2021). He and his wife, Alexis, have two children, Charlotte and Maverick.
