Mean Green Volleyball Sweeps South Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. (10/12/03) The North Texas volleyball team (14-10, 5-1) defeated South Alabama (4-13, 1-5) 3-0 (30-28, 30-19, 30-22) on Sunday to claim its third consecutive victory.
The Mean Green improved to 5-1 in Sun Belt Conference matches and picked up its sixth shutout victory of the season.
North Texas and South Alabama each had two players record double-figure kills, but the Mean Green hit .300 in comparison to the Jaguars .110. NT’s Corina Marginas posted a match-high 15 kills and Brittney Gregory tacked on 12 more for the Mean Green.
North Texas recorded a match-high .452 attack percentage in the second game, cruising to an 11-point win. The Mean Green hit at least .238 in games one and three, while the Jaguars failed to hit over .100 in the second or third games.
North Texas takes a brief break from conference play Tuesday, returning home to host Prairie View A&M in a 7 p.m. match.
