Lambright Paces North Texas In First Round

LINCOLN, Neb. (9/15/03)- Freshman Tara Lambright blistered the course at Wilderness Ridge in the opening round of the Chip-N-Club Invitational with a 73 to put her in third place just two shots behind the leader. Lambright, playing in only her second collegiate tournament, shot a 39 on the front nine and followed that up with the best score of the afternoon on the back nine at 34.
Sophomore Andra Lancaster and Kasey Hardin notched scores of 82 in the opening round while Brooke McCutchen fired an 88.
As a team North Texas is in seventh place after the first round with a team score of 325. Tournament host Nebraska is leading the way with an opening round score of 307.
The Chip-N-Club Invitational will conclude tomorrow with the final round.
