Golden Touch Has Mean Green Women's Golf In Second

Huntsville, TX (10-25-04) - Led by five golfers in the top 25, the Mean Green Women’s Golf Team rallied itself into second place after the first day of competition at the Sam Houston State University Invitational.
The Mean Green is led by Jaclyn Golden, who shot a season low 74 in round one. Golden followed that with 79 and sits in a tie for fifth place heading into tomorrow’s final round.
The Mean Green shot a 314 in the tournament’s first round, but recovered with a tournament low 306 in the afternoon session.
Lauren Cheves is in 10th place after rounds of 82 and 73. The freshman’s second round score is her lowest since joining
Andra Lancaster isn’t far behind after shooting 78 in both opening rounds.
Tara Lambright finds herself in a tie for 21st place after rounds of 83 and 76.
After a victory in the Lady Indian Classic just two weeks ago, Paige Padgett sits in a tie for 25th place after a pair of 80’s in the opening rounds.
Playing as an individual, Brooke Tanner is in a tie for 34th place with scores of 79 and 85.
The Mean Green will return to action tomorrow for the final round of the SHSU Invitational.
