Men's Basketball In Action Twice This Week At Home
11/23/2004 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
The North Texas men's basketball team (1-1) returns home to face UNC Wilmington (1-0) tonight in the first of three consecutive games at the Super Pit. The Mean Green also plays on Saturday against Lamar at 7 pm. Dating back to last season, North Texas has won its last four games at the Super Pit. Every regular-season North Texas game can be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Tonight's game between North Texas and UNC Wilmington will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools. North Texas’ game against UNC Wilmington will be just the third time the Mean Green has ever faced an opponent from the Colonial Athletic Association. NT is 1-1 in its previous two games, defeating Virginia Commonwealth 89-72 in 1975-76 and falling 77-82 against William & Mary in 1958-59.
North Texas fell to 18th-ranked Alabama on Sunday in its first road game of the season, while the Seahawks won its season opener last Friday with a 58-57 victory over Marshall at its home arena, the Trask Coliseum.
Fans can come early and bring the kids as the Fun Zone which opens an hour prior to tip-off and is located in the concourse near Gate E. Single-game tickets begin at just $5 and season tickets are still available. For your tickets, call the North Texas Athletic Ticket Office at (940) 565-2527 or 1-800-UNT-2366.
