Men's and Women's Basketball In Action Tonight

Join the North Texas men's and women's basketball teams tonight in doubleheader action at the Super Pit. The women's team plays at 6 p.m. against No. 4 Texas Longhorns. The men host Southern at 8 p.m.
The Mean Green men (4-3) will now try to string together back-to-back victories after a two-game skid. The team won its first road game of the season last Saturday, defeating Texas Pan American, 92-85. North Texas and Southern (3-3) met for the first-time ever last season in Baton Rouge. The Jaguars captured a 75-58 victory in the game.
The North Texas women closes out its three-game homestand against the fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns. The Mean Green has won two straight games and is off a perfect 3-0 start at home. Texas is 4-2 and has not played since December 4, a 73-56 win over New Mexico. The Longhorns are the second top five nationally-ranked team that North Texas will face in a five-game span.
Texas has won all eight meetings with the Mean Green. This will be the first match-up between the two schools in Denton. The Longhorns won the most recent battle last season in Austin, 91-50. The two teams first played in 1978, an 81-57 Texas win.
Tickets for the double-header are $10 for a Premium Chairback seat. Tickets will be available at the door tonight, as well as at the North Texas Ticket Office today at (940) 565-2527.
