| At the University of North Texas, our student athletes have accomplished much and we are proud of them. In addition to excelling on the playing field, court, or pool, our student athletes have also excelled in the classroom. Being a student athlete means putting in countless hours upon hours of practice and training that people may never know about or see. It means waking up in the early hours of the morning while it still seems like the rest of the world is asleep. It means missing vacation time with friends and family in order to train and compete. It means representing all of your fellow classmates and the University of North Texas every time you step out onto you venue of competition. Being a student athlete also means returning to home late after practice to study for a test For many, it even means trying to find time to do homework after coming home from working a part-time job and finishing practice. Being a student athlete also means trying to find the right classes at the right times so that you can still make that practice or work schedule. It means taking classes in the summer to finish up your degree on time. There are a lot of things that go unrecognized and unappreciated when you are a student athlete. We don't think this should be one of them. So we would like to take this opportunity to recognize our students athletes for all that they have accomplished. Congratulations Graduates! |
