DENTON (12/21/04) The North Texas men's basketball team tries to string together its first three-game winning streak of the season when it hosts Southeast Missouri State tonight at 7 p.m. Every regular-season North Texas game can be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The Mean Green is off to its best start since 1994-95 when the Mean Green was 5-3 as well. With a victory, the Mean Green will be 6-3 or better through its first nine games for the first time since 1980-81.
North Texas and Southeast Missouri State met for the first time ever last season in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The Indians captured a 75-68 comeback victory in the game.
Freshman forward Quincy Williams is the second true freshman to break into NT’s starting lineup in the last two seasons. Sophomore Calvin Watson started 13 games last season. While true freshman Michael Sturns has not started this year, he is averaging 15.5 minutes per game.
