Men's Basketball Hosts UALR Tonight

DENTON (1/20/05) - The North Texas men's basketball team hosts Arkansas-Little Rock tonight at 7 pm in the Super Pit. The Mean Green continues its homestand on Saturday night with a matchup against Arkansas State.Every regular-season North Texas game can be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
North Texas (9-5, 2-1) has won six of its last eight games, holds its best record through 14 games since the 1994-95 season and is just one game out of first place in the SBC’s West Division. The Mean Green wrapped up a five-game road swing, its longest of the season, with a victory over FIU on Monday and finished the stretch 3-2. NT will play two games this week at the Super Pit, where it is 5-1 this season, and also plays nine of its final 13 games at home.
Arkansas-Little Rock is currently 11-5 overall, 3-1 in Sun Belt play and has won eight of its last 10 games. The Trojans, picked to finish second in the East Division according to the league’s preseason coaches poll, is tied for first place with Arkansas State, NT’s opponent on Saturday.
The Denton Chamber of Commerce mixer will be held in the upper concourse of the Super Pit from 5-7 pm. At halftime of the men's game don't forget to look for local chamber celebrities playing a five-minute game coached by Rick Villarreal and George Young.
The Fun Zone for children will open at 6 pm before each game this week. Saturday is Denton Youth Basketball night and all youth in there DYB Jerseys are admitted free.
